WHO ARE YOU?

There are moments in life when you find yourself asking, “God, where are You?” But the truth is, God’s response to us is always: “If only you knew, your life is in My hands, and I am taking care of you.”

Even when you don’t feel it, God is protecting you, He is with you, and He has already gone ahead of you. Knowing this can inspire us to praise Him now for what we haven’t even seen in our future.

As we reflect on this today, I want to speak on this very question: Where are you?

Sometimes, we don’t realize how far we’ve wandered from the heart of God. We get caught up in the routines of faith but lose sight of the intimacy and fellowship we are meant to have with Him. Christianity is about relationship, not routine. Where other religions may have rituals and disciplines, Christianity is about fellowship with Jesus. But often, distractions or sins fill the gap, pulling us away from this intimacy.

One of the most significant examples of this is the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. They were instructed not to eat the forbidden fruit, but the enemy found a way to influence the serpent, the craftiest of all creatures, to deceive Eve. When she and Adam disobeyed, their eyes were opened to their nakedness, and shame took hold. They hid from God, afraid because they were exposed.

Yet, when God came walking through the garden, He asked Adam, Where are you? despite knowing they had sinned. The remarkable thing is, God continued to seek them out. He didn’t turn His back on them. Adam and Eve, in their shame, withdrew from God, but God still drew near to them. This story reveals something profound: even in our darkest moments, God continues to come toward us.

There are two types of people. Some draw away from God because they are aware of their sins, while others don’t even realize how far they’ve drifted. In Adam’s case, he knew he had sinned but didn’t realize that God’s love still reached out to him, even in his brokenness.

It’s so beautiful that after their fall, it was God who clothed Adam and Eve. Even in their disobedience, He provided for them. This is God’s love for us—He doesn’t leave us exposed. But we often try to box God into specific roles. We see Him only as a judge when we break His commandments, and that causes us to draw away, thinking we’ve failed Him. We forget that God is not limited to our perception. He is the source and sustainer of life, the "I Am," who cannot be confined to any function or label.

Maybe you’ve been carrying burdens, feeling unworthy of God’s love because of mistakes you’ve made. But understand this: your mistakes don’t define you, and they certainly don’t define how God sees you. You are covered by the blood of Jesus. When you repent, truly turn away from sin, and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, God’s plan for your life begins to unfold.

Perhaps you were sent to a difficult family or situation for a purpose. God saw the darkness in that family and sent you to be a light. You may have even encountered God before your family did. This wasn’t by chance—it was part of His plan to use you as a beacon of His love and truth.

Sometimes, we don’t even have the language to cry out for what we need, but God knows the cries of our hearts. There was a man in the Bible possessed by demons, yet even in his oppression, something within him still desired freedom. When Jesus approached him, that desire for liberation drew him near to the Savior. In the same way, your family or circumstances may be crying out for God, and He sent you there as the answer.

So instead of withdrawing from Him, let this be a reason to draw closer to God. Whatever burdens you are carrying, remember that Jesus said, “Cast your burdens onto Me, for I care for you .”Watch more here
